Dr. Leonidas-Alexandros Kouris has a PhD Diploma from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh) on the seismic vulnerability of traditional timber structures as well as by the Istituto Universitario di Studi Superiori di Pavia on the dynamic recognition of masonry structures. He taught at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and at the University of Pavia. He received his degree in Civil Engineering from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, where he later pursued a Master's degree in anti-seismic engineering. As an engineer he participated in projects such as the strengthening of medieval monuments and the design and evaluation of constructions. He has received more than ten awards and scholarships and now, having a MSCA-IF, is studying the reinforcement of masonry structures with composite materials in the EU's JRC-Ispra.
